The Vitalwood Mattress Story

We have been crafting bedroom furniture for 20 years, always using the finest organic materials. The VitalWOOD mattress, the result of almost 10 years’ research, launched in 2011, and follows the company’s passion for using natural materials.

An all natural, organic and chemical free mattress that is also eco friendly, there is no better mattress to rest your head on after a hard days’ work.

At the core of any VitalWOOD organic mattress is a chemical free, ventilating latex layer, housing our unique organic wooden coil springs. Surrounding this chemical free inner are layers of natural wool and cotton. All our mattresses are then finished with hand-stitched luxury covers featuring only natural wool, cotton and our unique Cottonsafe (fire retardant) fabric.

And the result of all these natural layers and fabrics? A luxurious, spine-supporting, well-ventilated and eco friendly mattress! The mattress we all deserve. The mattress to make us all feel a little less guilty about spending over one third of our lifetime tucked up in bed!
As someone who has been crafting quality, hand-made wooden furniture for many years I am delighted to be able to add VitalWOOD natural mattresses to my portfolio. The unique benefits of the natural mattresses beech wood springs (increased independent movement and body weight distribution, enhanced comfort, increased mattress life) are just additional reasons for me to marvel at the incredible, natural material, which I enjoy working with so much.

A range of Vital mattresses are now now available for viewings (we might even let you bounce up and down!) in London for the first time. Our showroom is now open in Forest Hill (SE23), just a short walk from Forest Hill Overground Station.
